Seniors
interested in scholarships are strongly encouraged to go to their Naviance
account at
https://connection.naviance.com/Uticahs.
Students use their school username and password to log into the site. Go
to Colleges and then see the Scholarships section. If any questions please see
your counselor.
AP
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
All students wishing to register for an AP exam must
do so by registering online.
The
following is a copy of the directions that you will find at the website:
- On page one, fill in all the
contact information.
- Place a check mark next to each
exam that you will be taking and your teacher’s name. Select PREVIEW
at the bottom of the page.
- On the Preview page check for
accuracy. If all is correct, click NEXT on the bottom of the page.
- This will take you to the
CONFIRMATION page. Print TWO (2)
copies of the confirmation page. Place
one copy in a sealed envelope along with a check for total amount shown on
confirmation page. Keep the second copy of the confirmation sheet for
your records Make checks payable
to Utica High School. If ordering multiple tests, please write only
one check.
- Submit sealed envelope, labeled AP
testing, containing one confirmation sheet and check to Mrs. Prentice in
the main office. Tests will be
cancelled for any student who has not paid by 2:30 p.m. on March 24.

The new Ferris
State University Admissions Recruiter will be in our area on Monday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 22,
from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He will be offering 30-minute meetings at the
Panera Bread in Troy. Students may sign

“other events” into the search bar and clicking on the first result that comes
up.
Learn
more about how your students can transform their passion into a creative career
at one of the most comprehensive nonprofit art and design universities in the
world. Attend a SCAD information session! Ann Arbor Art Center, 117 W. Liberty St., Ann Arbor, MI, Thurs, March 10, at 7 p.m.
Take part in an admission presentation to learn about
SCAD's innovative academic programs, art and design career options, and
admission requirements. Students also can participate in a Q-and-A session
with admission representatives or meet representatives one-on-one. Register to attend.
Aquinas College Fine Arts Day is
scheduled for Friday, March 18th from 8:30 am – 2 pm. It is an
entertaining and exciting day for AQ’s annual exploration into the arts. Play
your instrument, sing, act, draw, paint, write, and sculpt…….it’s all there for
students. The day includes a tour of the 117 acre campus and a complimentary
lunch. Session options include: Acting/Choreography, Choral Workshop,
Creative Nonfiction at AQ, Gesture Drawing, How to Succeed in Music Theory, I’m
a Singer: Hear me Whine, Trill & Roar, What you can do with a Music Major,
Photograms, Poetry, Sculpture, Short Fiction, Theatre Audition Seminar,
Instrumental Jazz Improv (bring your own instrument).
The WSU SAT Boot Camp deadline is fast
approaching! Applications must be in
before March 18, 2016.
SAT Boot
Camp is an SAT preparatory experience for students that will be entering the
10th and 11th grade in the fall of 2016. It is designed to
increase students' understanding of math, scientific reasoning, and English,
and give students a greater chance of receiving higher scores and access
to better scholarships. Please share this information with

The UCS Career Expo is
set for Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from
7-9 pm at Eisenhower High School. This is a great opportunity to talk with
professionals currently in the fields you may be considering. Ask them about
their career, job outlook, necessary training and more. Shuttles run about
every 20 minutes from Wiley.
Michigan State University –
Vet*a*Visit is scheduled for Saturday,
April 9, 2016 from 9 am – 3 pm at the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine.

The National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD), a joint
project of the College of William & Mary and the Colonial Williamsburg
Foundation invites students to apply to their Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in
Early American History. The program is open to juniors, seniors and graduating
seniors to earn four hours of college credit. Student may take either of the
following courses in either session: HIS 217: American History from Jamestown
through the American Revolution or HIS 218: American History from the

Students can choose among 21 courses in a variety of subjects. The Summer
Humanities Institute is for students currently in grades 10 and 11 to explore
the big questions at the heart of the humanities in seminars. And the NEW
Stanford Summer Arts Institute is for students in grades 9-11 to engage in

The University of
Toledo will
host the second annual Youth Nationals: Global Leadership Experience this
summer. Youth Nations is a program that provides high school juniors with an
opportunity to experience life on campus while competing against students
across the globe for UT scholarships. The focus is to help students showcase
