Are you interested in a Skilled Trade, Apprenticeship or Similar Work-Based Learning Opportunity? Find out how to get a jump start!
This summer Macomb Community College is offering pre-apprenticeship training classes that teach the foundational skills needed for a skilled trade, apprenticeship or similar work-based learning opportunity. Classes run from June 20-August 12, 2016. Juniors considering Dartmouth, Northwestern, Princeton, University of California, Berkley and Vanderbilt University should attend an evening informational session on Monday, May 23, from 7-9 pm at the Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport. ATTENTION: JUNIORS - Michigan State University Green and White Days will be held daily from July 19 - 22. As the largest open house programs of the year, students get to design their own schedule to maximize their interests across campus - from admissions presentations to exclusive access inside academic buildings and athletic facilities. Student organizations, campus resources and regional admissions counselors are all available to answer questions.  Registration is available now at greenandwhiteday.com.   Students invited to attend a Green and White: Honors Edition (July 15 or 18) will experience the same Green and White Day format, except all opportunities will be tailored towards high-achieving students.

Davenport University – Warren and Grand Rapids Campuses
Davenport will be hosting a FREE Forensics Science Summer Camps, limited to 20 students per campus.
Forensic Science Summer Camp Dates:  Warren Campus- June 27– July 1, 2016
                                                                 Grand Rapids Campus- July 11 - July 15, 2016, August 8 - August 12, 2016. 
They are looking for students in grades 9-12 that have an interest in the biological sciences and have completed at least one high school level biology course. We can only accommodate 20 students per camp. We welcome submission of applications from students that have interest and meet these criteria. The College of William & Mary
The National Institute of American History and Democracy (NIAHD), a joint project of the College of William & Mary and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation invites students to apply to their Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early American History. The program is open to juniors, seniors and graduating seniors to earn four hours of college credit. Two three-week sessions are available: June 26-July 16, 2016 and July 17-August 6, 2016. Open to rising juniors and seniors, the NYU Precollege offers students a six-week living and learning community. The summer 2016 program runs from July 5 - August 16, 2016. Boston University
The New England Center for Investigative Reporting is a nonprofit news organization affiliated with Boston University whose mission is to hold the powerful accountable and to train a new generation of investigative reporters.  Students are invited to take a summer investigative reporting workshop for high school students. It's a two-week intensive journalism camp where high school students from around the world engage in hands-on investigative reporting seminars taught by professional journalists. Students work individually and collaboratively while participating in an active student community and living on campus at either Boston University or Boston College. Kettering University
LITE (Lives Improve Through Engineering) is a two-week residential program at Kettering University which introduces girls who will complete the 11th grade by July 1, 2016 to what engineers do and how they improve people’s lives by using math, science and technology to find solutions to human problems. Experience America
Experience America started five years ago with the goal of creating summer programs for high school students which we hope they will love. A core focus of our programs is to give our students a candid look into these industries before they take the next steps in their education.  We developed our programs with the University of Washington in Seattle, as well as The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles.

·         Experience Japan (Nagoya & Tokyo): This immersion trip is for students who have a passion for Japanese language and culture. It gives students the opportunity to explore Japan as a tourist, student, and professional.
